There are four headline topics this month:
The Partner Catalog is a place where all the Innovation Studio Partners can display their services. In traditional Innovation Studio fashion, this catalog was built for both internal and external use. Q2 will use it internally to organize and show the capabilities of the Innovation Studio Platform. It is designed for external use to use the power of the Innovation Studio Platform. All financial institutions can see what is available from the partners and request installs from one place. All Partners can showcase their business in the Catalog and show the power of their software.
The Marketplace has signed 65 Financial Institutions and 49 Partner Apps. While some FI’s have signed up for Marketplace and are making decisions on Applications, others have signed up for multiple apps for launch. There are currently 10 apps for FI’s to choose from and the list continues to grow. The ease of adding an app is nothing like FI’s have seen before. Marketplace can be installed in as little as 20 to 30 days and apps may be added at the flip of a switch.

The Innovation Studio team has just launched the long-awaited Docker development solution for the Caliper SDK. The solution is built through Docker to create a virtual environment with a WebSocket to the SDK and test environment, when your server is running the traffic will be forwarded directly to your webserver.
There are two major steps for this to work. The first step is to generate a token through q2developer.com. After that task has been completed, Docker needs to be installed and then running a few commands to download and run a script is all that is necessary to begin developing.
This solution went through many hoops including extensive testing from both internal and external developers alike. This was to confirm proper long-term stability and working in a variety of different environments across many different organizations and security constraints. The Shared Development Server is still in use and fully supported, but some of the developers both internally and externally want to build more complex programs that take more resources to run in a quick manner, so this is where the power of the Docker developer solution is.
The Shared Development Server solution is still our most widely adopted and used solution. With the launch of the Docker Development solution, Q2 did a full revamp of the rest of the setup docs. Complete with new screenshots and updated information to make setup for new external developers easier.
The Caliper SDK August course is on the horizon for next month. This will be held from August 10th through August 12th. The training provides valuable training for everyone that uses the Caliper SDK. If you are a partner or an FI developer and you haven’t attended the training this is a great way to learn more about the software and the platform. For more information on the course see the training agenda page and how to sign up your team for our next session, please visit the Q2Developer.com training page.
The q2 add_to_nav command now can gracefully accept multiple nav trees. This means that for environments with multiple nav trees like your traditional uux layout and another top level ux design will now be shown with nice separation.
The Database objects received many iterative improvements this month. Check them all out through the changelog, but a few specific improvements are worth calling out here. The Email DbO now has an update and delete functionality. The Address DbO now has a create method.
